Interest Groups
We have a wide range of interest groups related to Community Involvement, Sports and Fitness, Hands-on Activities, Out and About, Books and Discussion, and Bridge, all described below. Please check the Calendar for details of meetings.
Community Involvement
Cablevision - Produce programs, often related to AAUW issues such as girls in school, women’s issues, etc. The programs are shown on local community cable station. Members do all parts of the work, including producing, directing, and technical jobs. Planning meetings are held second Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., and taping in on LAST Fridays at 6:00 p.m.
Tech Time Science Club - This is a hands-on science enrichment program for girls in grades 4 through 6 offered in collaboration with Girl Scouts of Santa Clara County. Each month a woman scientist discusses her field of math, science, or technology and incorporates a hands-on workshop in her presentation. Programs are held at 5:00 p.m. one Monday each month.
Discussion Group - Along with discussion and dessert, programs often feature a guest speaker. They are held at 8:00 p.m. third Fridays.
Sports and Fitness
Golf - Every Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Deep Cliff Golf Course.
Tennis - Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.
Parcourse - Every Saturday at 7:00 a.m. at a local parcourse trail.
Hands-on Activities
Microwave Cooking - Hands-on cooking of tasty, time-saving recipes at 10:30 a.m. on second Tuesdays.
Thursday Crafts - Make a different craft each meeting, often from a different culture, first Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.

Out and About
Cultural Capers - See new places, enjoy special events, and talk over lunch. Dates are announced.
Nostalgia - Tour local gardens, museums, and musical events. Dates are announced.
Restaurant Touring - Try American and ethnic foods in the area, usually the third Tuesday of the month.
Dining Out - Meet once a month at a different restaurant, usually on the first Tuesday or Wednesday of the month.
Literature
Bibliophiles I and II - Read literary books and join the discussion led by a group member. Bibliophiles I meets at 1:30 p.m. the first Thurdsday of the month; Bibliophiles II meets at 1:00 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month.
Mystery Book Group - Read and discuss a different mystery each month at 7:00 p.m. on second Thursdays.
New Leaf Book Club - Each member reviews a book of her choice, followed by discussion & dessert. Meetings are held at 1:00 p.m. on third Fridays.
Poetry Readers Group - Discuss selected poetry or poets at 2:00 p.m on second Tuesdays.
Reader’s Theatre - Read plays aloud or listen at 1:00 p.m. on third Wednesdays.
Bridge
Daytime Duplicate Bridge I and II - Third Mondays at 12:30 p.m./second Fridays at 12:30 p.m.
Second Friday Morning Bridge - 9:30 a.m.
Beginners Couples & Singles Party Bridge - Fourth Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.
Evening Bridge - Third Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
Morning Bridge - First Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m.
Couples Party Bridge - Second Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
Evening Duplicate Bridge - First Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
Tournament Bridge - Once a month - time varies.
